Piano Lessons by Hal Leonard, From the very first lessons in Book 1, students are making music as they explore the piano keyboard through fun improvisation pieces called My Own Song. The beginning of the book introduces finger numbers, the black-key and white-key groups, and basic rhythm patterns. Directional reading is taught first by finger number, then by note name, and then by interval (stop, skip, and repeat). Once the students are introduced to the staff, they learn reading guides Bass F and Treble G and read by interval in several different hand positions.
Staff (music) - In musical notation, the staff or stave is a set of five horizontal lines on which note symbols are placed to indicate pitch and rhythm. The lines are numbered from bottom to top; the bottom line is the first line and the top line is the fifth line. Music Is Rotted One Note - Music Is Rotted One Note is the second full album released by Tom Jenkinson, aka Squarepusher, on UK electronica label Warp. Double whole note - A double whole note or breve is a note in music, lasting twice as long as a whole note (or semibreve). In Mediaeval music, the breve was the shortest note length, and could be either a half or a third as long as the longa, but in modern music notation it is the longest note with a distinct symbol. Middle C - In Western music, the expression "middle C" refers to the note "C" or "Do" located between the staves of the grand staff, quoted as C4 in note-octave notation (also known as scientific pitch notation). It also tends to be to the middle of a keyboard, and it is near the top of the male vocal range and the bottom of the female vocal range.
