Music of Bengal - The music of Bengal, otherwise referred to as Bangla music, comprises a long tradition of religious and secular song-writing over a period of almost a millennium. Composed, as might be assumed, in the Bengali language, Bengali music spans a gamut of styles, though is most strongly affected by Hindustani music.

Totalism (music) - In music, totalism is some people's term for a style of music that arose in the 1980s and '90s as a developing response to minimalism - parallel to post-minimalism, but generally among a slightly younger generation, born in the 1950s. In the early 1980s, many young composers began writing music within the static confines of minimalism, but using greater rhythmic complexity, often with two or more tempos (or implied tempos) audible at once.

Song writing - A style of musical composition, song writing is the process of creating a short piece of music usually involving lyrics (called a song).

Instrumentation (music) - Instrumentation is the study and practice of writing music for a musical instrument.
